WHO'S JOÃO?

João Pedro Ribeiro is a recent Molecular Bioengineering MSc graduate in the Faculty of Engineering and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar. With years of lab work experience in various challenging and exhilarating environments within i3S, Instituto de investigação e Inovação em Saúde, Porto, he has established himself as a competent professional. His expertise lies in the fields of genetics, stem cells, and regeneration, through which he has acquired numerous skills in the expansive realms of science and biotechnology. He is currently working in the Stem Cells for Regenerative Biology and Repair group at i3S, where his primary focus revolves around two key areas. Firstly, he is engaged in establishing differentiated induced pluripotent stem cell lines. Secondly, he is involved in the development of vascularization units specifically intended for application in the field of cardiac tissue engineering.


Having immersed himself in substantial laboratory work, he has had the opportunity to gain insights into the scientific panorama and learn how to leverage it for his own aspirations. Continually evolving in his scientific perspective, his ultimate aspiration is to serve as an inspiration to others and uplift them in their own pursuits within the realm of science.
